I was thinking Valentines would be a great day to ask her, but I'm scared what should I do?

What I mean by "befriend" Be friends first, get to know her more before telling her how I feel about her....

Not really.
From the sounds of things you are a bit of a recluse with not much experience in the lady dept.
Chances are she will reject you in the harshest way possible, possibly in front of any body near by.
My advice would be to forget about it and consider becoming a monk. Lets face it your chat is pretty rubbish too so a life of not talking would be no great loss to the world.

it depends on wether you think that girl likes you back. is she sweet to you? does she enjoy having you around or does she try to avoid you? if you think she might be interested then asking her out on valentines day would be the perfect thing to do. Most girls would love to be acknowledged on that date!!!

If you want to date her, or get to know her as a friend first, you will have to get over your fear.
Don't overthink it, just do it, and be ready to accept whatever happens, even if she tells you that you stink and to go brush your tooths.

Send her a card and flowers and on the card ask her if she would like to go on a romantic valentines date. its pretty easy to figure out...... just go with your gut........toodles
