Some of the other answers are right here. I had a gastric ulcer a few years ago and was told to keep away from alcohol, caffeine and fruit juices (because of the citric acid). I just drank green tea and water to be safe but milk based drinks are OK too as long as you keep away from the caffeine. Good luck with it.

As wonderful as the benefits of drinking cranberry juice are, it is not advisable for a person with an ulcer to drink much of it. Cranberry juice is high in benzoic acid which would irritate his ulcer.

I would say no! Cranberry juice is recommended for helping to keep the bladder working and is good if you have a tendency towards urinary infections. It could be too acidic for an already ulcerated stomach! As would be most fruit juices! I'd suggest milky drinks or plain water and squash, carbonated drinks can also make the symptoms worse as I can testify personally.

Has he been diagnosed with an ulcer? If he is self diagnosing he needs to see a doc as most ulcers are caused by the H-Pyloric bacteria and need antibiotics to heal it. If he has seen the doc and has diagnosis of ulcer he can drink cranberry juice so long as it doesn't bother him.

Cranberry juice is very acidic and may not be the best thing to drink at the moment.
I'd advise drinking water and also avoiding anything high in acid such as juices and also avoid drinking coffee and too much tea.

Cranberry Juice is quite acidic which is usefull in urinary tract infections but it may increase the symptoms of your fathers ulcer best check with the doctor

cranberry juice is quite acidic...mix that with stomach ulcer and you worsen the problem, Try something dairy based like milk or yogurt. It won't heal it but it's a bit more soothing to take down.

Personally i would say no, i had an ucler recently and though i usually drink cranberry juice for my bowel disorder i found it very irritating for my ulcer, i doubt it will do it harm but maybe he might consult the doctor.
