I feel that you should not generalise in such as way as every person is different. Whilst one atheist that you have met may have come across to you as being destitute and expressing hatred I don't think it is fair to put everyone in the same category. Maybe he/she was having a bad day and/or maybe that individual was unaware that they were giving you that impression and maybe that was not their intention. Maybe they want to be like this but that is their individual decision. Maybe you should keep an open mind and not generalise about people and that everybody has the right to be how they want to be free of being put into a category........
Hmmm, let me just add I didnt see the second sentence I think you have too much time on your hands making these flip statements - why dont you spend that time looking into atheism a little more...

96% of eminent American scientists are atheists...that would be a majority.
We comprise only 0.2% of the prison population, now that IS a minority, so you've got us there...
Nobel Prize winners...definitely the majority.
Hate crimes...minority again...yeah, minority
NASA...majority
Ku Klux Klan members...minority
It would appear to me that, in any area that requires higher education, logic, rational thought, etc., atheists outnumber theists by quite a significan margin. It must be awful to have to tolerate all those doctors, physicists, university professors, biochemical researchers, and geneticists. Perhaps they should all leave you to your own devices and move to a country that is even MORE tolerant, like China, and see if their expertise is valued there. Wouldn't that be fun? We could clear up their little coal consumption problem, and then the only major polluter still to blame for global warming would be...let's see...the U.S.A.
Was that too hateful and bereft of comprehension for you?

This question is very general and bias. I am not sure if you actually know anyone that is an atheist or not. I am not one but I know many that are and this question is stereo typical and is not true about atheist all together. Many atheist do not wear their beliefs on their sleeves and you might not even know that they are atheist. I happen to work in a field where I meet many but I would never know. You might want to go out in a large city and meet some atheist people and see what they are like. Try it out before judging.

I haven't had the same experience of atheists you seem to have. I don't see them just expressing hatred, most seem pretty tolerant. I don't know any destitute atheists personally. You are generalizing. I know Christians who are hateful, intolerant, and condescending. I don't say all Christians are hateful, intolerant, and condescending.
Wow, I just read through some of the "Christian" comments. Such a nice group of people, definitely better than the way you characterize atheists. *heavy sarcasm intended*

Hatred..........we express nothing but compassion for our fellow people on the planet. However, we are starting to push back when religious monkeys infringe on our rights and try to force their beliefs and morals on us, and try to meld together the church and state (which is wrong). If you keep your church out of our faces, then we will not hate you. Oh and if you could start using your brains and logic and realize that your religious beliefs are childish, then we will not pity you.
In addition, religious believers actually spread more hate and are way more hateful that atheists. You murder each other in the name of your God(s), your God murders, etc. It actually seems like a death cult at times.

The belief in a being having power over oneself is in the nature of every human being. It tranquils the human nature whatever the faith. Those who try to rebel against their own human nature in this respect indeed feel destitute. This belief continues to survive in the history of mankind because it inseparable from man's nature, and that is by a divine design.

I'm Christian and I wouldn't say that is true. Atheists have a different opinion just like other religions. I don't see hatred among them. I have seen annoyance and much disapproval from them. And some Christians don't help that by arguing with them in a contest to prove they are right.
I can settle that debate right now once and for all. Nobody has any tangible proof that God exists. A relationship with God is meant to be based on faith. So you won't find a stone tablet that has Gods signature on it and a photo of Him in heaven waving with a caption at the bottom that says, "See ya soon!"
And on a final thought, at least atheists aren't slamming planes into buildings or parking explosive filled cars in parking lots under buildings. Even atheists don't like that. Maybe we aren't completely different after all.

I think it's because they think everyone should believe what they want to believe regardless of what we christains feel. I for one hate it when they do that. Not all saved sinners shove their beliefs down the unsaves throat. I don't do that. I am disapointed that they choose not to believe but I won't shovel my belifs down their throats. I wish the unsaved would do the same. Everyone's in titled to their own belifs and the unsaved have no right to show hatred toward us saved sinners just because we choose to believe. It gives them no right as it gets the saved sinners a right to show hatred to the unsaved. They really need to stop showing hatred. I believe the reason the do this is because they think everyone should not believe. However if this was the case then the world would be worse off then it is.
