My kids are 4 and 6 and they've been bathing themselves for about a year now. I measure out the shampoo but they wash themselves and get out when their done, dry off, and get dressed. We do not have a bath so they shower but they still do really well.

No earlier than 3 yrs.- to start, and "practice" and that is to be supervised with a parent, and help them. Encourage them as they wash their arms, etc. Help them with their backs, feet, stuff like that. By themselves, totally, depends on the child-about 6 yrs. old. Depends on the child. But, don't ever leave a young child unattended in the bathroom. Even for a second. When I was 7 yrs. old I can still remember a young mom leaving her 2 yr. old girl in the bathroom to go answer the phone. The child wasn't in the tub, but her head was top heavy (as most youngin's are) and she drowned in the toilet. By the age of eight a child should be okay-except for help washing their hair. Hope this helps.

I think I started getting bathes without help at like 7/8ish or something. But, I was always a child who liked to do things on their own, so that could possibly be too young, I just remember liking to bathe myself at that age. As soon as they feel ready, I would say.

i'd say for a baby, 6 or 7 years old is sufficiently old. It relies upon on their adulthood factor. now and again you'll nonetheless ought to envision and make efficient they rinsed each and every of the shampoo out of their hair, used conditioner, etc. yet that is going with the territory and is a higher difficulty with females who've more beneficial hair. A 9 twelve months old boy should not be needed help to bathe. yet for sure, that is the placement you eventually end up in. ask your self although, is he fairly terrified of having cleansing soap in his eyes or is he purely being lazy about it? Boys are notorious for hating to bathe. It fairly interrupts their lives. that they'd a lot somewhat be playing. they don't care in the experience that they stink. LOL So what i'd do? i'd get tear loose shampoo, purely so he won't be able to *****, and tell him to get over it. At 9 years old, you would imagine he will be hitting the age the position he would not opt for his mom to work out him bare quickly. tell him that you do not plan on coming to his dorm and washing his hair even as he's in college, so he would as well study now!

No definite age. It depends on how ready the child is.
You should be teaching him/her step by step, with each bath. Wash him and explain gently how he can learn to wash himself. Then slowly encourage him to try it. Give him a washcloth of his own to practice with. Show him how to clean all areas of his body and he will pick it up bit by bit. Eventually he'll want to do it himself.

My daughter is 6 and I finally just started making her bathe herself. I leave the door open and I put the shampoo, conditioner, etc., on her hair or on the washcloth so that I know she uses enough. Because she has a tendency to just put a tiny dab in. I also check in on her frequently.

I'm thinking about 7 they can take a bath themselves with the door open so you can hear them. Probably around 9 or 10 they'll be okay.

About 5 yrs old. Remember, he starts kindergarden, so that is about the time he should learn to be a little more independent, like tieing his own shoes, dressing himself etc.
