Are you confused with a scripture and its meaning? Like this one-
John 12:25
The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.
-This does not mean what you think it does- it is speaking of heaven and hell- the man who loves his life on earth will lose it, it will perish, but we who do not love this world will gain eternal life with Christ- those who are saved in Him.
