After I reel the fish in, what do I do? Immediatly kill it, or through it in the ice box alive?

i allways put mine in a basket or on a stringer until i am done fishing.
i carry a big blue tub,with water inside, in the back of my truck that i can put the fish in on the way to the house.when i get home i will clean my catch.i cook what i catch that day or the next.i do not like to freeze my fish.if i cant eat it all in a day or two i will give it away.

If you are going to keep it for eating, you should immediately kill and clean the fish and put it in the stream or cooler. Imagine how inhumane it is to keep something alive long enough to suffocate in a creel or in water without enough oxygen.

That's one of the reasons why I do not like Bass tourneys. Almost 90% of the fish they keep in those live wells for weighing die upon release. Sure, it is a small percentage of fish compared to how many fish there are total, but the large amount of fish dying after catch and release tourneys is appalling.

I put a line through their gils throw them back in the water and keep them alive until I'm done fishing. Then I gut them and throw em in Ice.

I love to fish, but hate cleaning fish. So I always throw them back. If they are big, we take a picture before releasing it.

you do have to kill it, it will die in you icebox from lack of oxygen. but in the other hand if you dont want the fish to be jumping around in your icebox then do what you got to do.
