I noticed that i have a small white spot on the back of my throat. It's not on my tonsil but behind it. I don't have a sore throat, and I haven't been sick. I know it sounds gross, but I tried to poke at it but it didn't pop. It didn't even hurt. That side of my throat feels wierd but it doesn't hurt. Any ideas?

It's not one of those stinky things. It is like a bumb back there, like a big white head.

Sounds like a symptom of strep throat. If so, you might also develop additional symptoms such as; headache, abdominal (lower stomach) pain, fever, general discomfort, feeling ill or uneasy, loss of appetite and nausea, muscle pain, joint stiffness, or a skin rash.
Strep throat is caused by group A streptococcal bacteria, Streptococcus pyogenes. The organisms are transmitted from one infected person to another. It's most common in school-aged children and teens. But adults may also get it. Strep throat is more widespread during the school year when a large number of students are present in an enclosed space, laughing, yelling, sneezing, and coughing.
Fluids and sleep can help recovery time but a doctors visit is a must because if it is strep throat you will need an antibiotic such as penicillin (for someone who is allergic to penicillin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin are prescribed).
Take care.

As was mentioned by someone else, it sounds like a tonsil stone. Gargle some mouthwash. If your breath has been smelling weird, that's probably it. It's a natural occurrence. Most of the time, these just get swallowed unnoticed. If you want to cough it up, fine, but don't spend too much time messing with it, it just smells.

It sounds like a viral infection, maybe strep, If the side of your throat feels wierd. It could be because your lyph glands are swollen due to a infection somewhere in your body.

Hello....I used to get these all the time
Since I started gargling with half water/half peroxide once a week I don't get them any more (don't swalliow peroxide by the way)
Personally, I wouldn't try and remove them - they will eventually dislodge - but gargling with warm water with salt in will swish them out if they are ready to dislodge.
I hadn't realized these were so common - when I first got one I went to the emergency department !!
Best of luck

It's brobably an infection called Tonsillitis. You have a hard time swallowing? Dificulty eating, talking?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillitis I had this and they don't remove your tonsils anymore if you get it. I feel for ya.

It's called a tonsil stone, or tonsillolith. Look it up on Wiki or google. They're harmless, but smell really foul.

I have the same but between my lip and my teeth, it hurts as hell when I smile, and I smile all the time. Eat yogourt or Labneh.
