You need to never use hot anything on your hair. Rinse in cool water, never rub with a towel, just squeeze and pat it dry. Let it dry naturally whenever possible and wear it up on weekends. Use little product on it like chemical straighteners, that will kill your hair. Buy an intense treatment for the hair and leave it in as long as possible, like on the weekend, leave it in for hours with a shower cap on. Then buy a leave in conditioner to use daily. Try a shine product, every one is different and put it in with your fingers when styling. Use steam rollers instead of hot irons to style your hair and don't brush, just use fingers and then spray with an extra hold hair spray. the steam won't dry your hair like a hot iron will and won't cause damage. Good luck.

ok...sounds like i have similar hair to u.....yes, heating products are bad news for the hair....but to say to never use them wudd be cruel....still gotta look hot right??
here's my advice:
make sure u use a shampoo and conditioner for ur hair type...the Pantene Pro v Relaxed and natural line is great! and u dont have to be a woman of colour to use!! but it moisturizes the hair and smells awesome!!!
i wudd recommend a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment every so often...maybe weekly or 2x a month ...whatever works for u
also, try to minimize the straightening...there are products out there that are for use while flat ironing that protects the hair and helps the straightening to last longer....
try some daily moisturizer too...(try Pantene)
thats as much as i can say
hope this helps

Every time you wash your hair, use a masque conditioner. Also try to find a leave-in conditioner to help with all the heat-styling!
And if you're worried about the volume of your hair, speak to your hairdresser and ask about having your hair "thinned."

the best way to make your hair more soft and shiny is to put oil twice a week, it is much better than shampoo and other stuffs which contains acids.they can pull your hair out easily and is breakable.Oil is something which we indians put and it looks very neat, beautiful ,tidy and there wont be any nots on your hair.Do not put a lot of it. only put shampoo once a weak and going for straightinig your is of no use.after bathing take all nots out of your hair also(do not use comb).cheak it out.
