You should never "dump" someone. That's just rude and tacky. However if you choose to end a relationship, do it honestly, gently, and face to face. Don't accuse the other person or say unkind things, just let them know you feel the two of you are no longer a good match, and wish them luck in the future.

In person. Don't do it tomorrow though. That's kinda mean. I had to break up with someone by text message once. I felt bad about it, but he was always gone away to work on business and didn't really have any time with me and when I tried to do it in person he was busy talking about other stuff. He didn't get mad though. That was strange...we had a weird relationship anyway.

Well leaving it until Valentines day is a good start, and choose a moment when its just the both of yous, face to face is best!

first you have to wait until after valentines day, then you go up to them in person and say your sorry but you dont think your going to work out together, then say your sorry again bite your lip, and walk off slowly.
good luck i know how hard it is to dump someone. but this might work.

Just be honest and straight, and Face to Face is much better than a text / e-mail or phone call.
Dont string it out and dont be crule. You are about to hurt some one you used to care deeply about, dont make it worse. And talk to them first not anyone else who is liable to say somthing to them before you do!

Other than trying to use some compassion (if the situation warrants it) there is no such thing as a best way. Just do it and be done with it, and make sure you do it in person.
