My cat takes 8 hour naps. I thought a cap nap was supposed to be something short? Cats sleep forever.

Most cats will take series of short naps, gt up re adjust maybe have some food, plant themselves back in the sunlight and go back to sleep.
My cat is like a little sundial, I can tell what time it is by plotting her position on the rug.

Youre right cats sleep 2/3 of their life! But most cats take multiple naps in a day, some only lasting 30min to and hour... your cat does sleep a really long time!!

Cats are supposed to sleep alot, but they don't sleep constantly. They take short naps all throughout the day. That's where the phrase came from. Your cat is probably just super tired, or old.

LOL I questioned myself the same, my cat "naps" all night and day. He's just awake basicly 4 hrs a day just for meal time and stalking people's legs.

No jumping all over me this is a joke.
I watched a comic on TV he said he had his cat put to sleep because it already slept 23 hours a day what was one more hour.

you might not notice but they take seperate sleeps in the day not all one
