i think people are so strongly opinionated about god because it is such an old issue.when you`re upbringing dictates that god exists you may never change that opinion.i strongly believe that there is not a god in existence as i think that science can answer,at least hypothetically, most of the big questions that are produced by physics and time related physics.would god really allow us to continue our destruction of the planet, without stepping in in some way?would he allow such suffering to innocent people?why did he take so long to create us as obviously a lot predates us?can religion really explain all?i think not.

Whether or not (a) god exists is the longest coin-toss in history. How can anyone be certain about something there is absolutely no evidence for?
The 'buy-bull' is NOT evidence.
A 'feeling' (faith) is NOT evidence.
A 'claim' is NOT evidence.
Our (human beings) existence is NOT evidence.
When human physiologists and biologists find evidence for the existence a 'soul' in even one human being, then I'll consider (a) god's existence. Until then, I'll accept that we're a product of nature that live here on this tiny planet on the outskirts of this tiny galaxy in this extremely vast universe.

I don't believe in God, but I feel like since there is no evidence for God's existence (sorry, I don't count faith and old story books as evidence) then not believing in God is the logical conclusion. Anyone who has taken Philosophy 101 or is good with logic knows that you can't prove a negative. If people assert that God exists, then the burden of proof falls on them. And I'm not convinced.

They're not certain; they're just guessing, but if you think you really believe, then it's very emotional -- and you don't like someone saying your god doesn't exist.
As for the people who are certain there is no god, I would imagine they mean they are certain the Bible god doesn't exist, cause he's so weird, and if you search the Bible you find out he's got some emotional issues that are not very god-like.
Most people probably don't care one way or the other -- but the fervor and emotion of church people seem funny to me.

I can only answer for those who are certain that he exists. It is just a case of faith, there is no other answer. If you believe in God and don't have faith to believe the Bible then there is nothing. It is up to you if you believe it but if you do it makes a wonderful difference to your life. I did find that I had a God shaped hole in me after all and it makes a difference to my family as well.

In general, people think it's better to be certain than to be correct.
This may be a simple matter of evolution: given how much we're incorrect about, indecisiveness may be worse than being wrong a few percent more times. I don't think we're in a position to tell whether or not that's the case yet, but it's a strong possibility.

How are you certain that anything in history happend, where you there? You do not need to see something in order to know it exist. However full assurance comes when your receive the spirit of God, then it is living in you. You will have no doubts about your beliefs.

Things happen in my life that I have no control over. Everything works out for me. So, I am being cared for by a God who loves me and who gives me everything I need (not the same as everything I want). Every disaster becomes a victory. Every time I am knocked down I rise up stronger. Because it is God who defends me, I am undefeatable.

i know god exsists because when i think of him or talk to him i get filled with a sense of joy that is hard to explain like there is somebody out there that will do all they can to keep me safe and happy. i also dont have a specific religion eaither as i dont agree with certain points in the religions and i think there all the same god but as different to each person/religion as we are to eachother.

I am certain that HE exists by faith. I asked God to come into my life and take away my sin and since then the Holy Spirit has lived in me and my life has been so much easier. That is not to say that i do not have trials and temptations but HE is there with me to help me with it. You are never alone with God.
For you people who say His existence has never been proven. There are thousands of things over the years that have never been proven but you still believe in them.
Open your hearts and your minds to Gods word.
