I recently moved to a heavily wooded lot out on the ridge in Princeton NJ. In the past 6 months I've seen several large birds of prey (not buzzards or vultures). I'm not surprised that you've seen a bald eagle. I recently put up a bird feeder and I'm curious if it will attract the small birds which will attract the large birds which feed on the small birds.

Bald Eagles are now off the endangered list and they are migrating further north and south. You may want to notify your local bird watchers group as a new interest to look for, but there is no need to call anyone to report a Bald Eagle, unless it is injured, then call your local animal shelter and they will contact the necessary facility to try to capture the bird for rehabilitation.

We have them in Bay City, MI also. Eagles, hawks, falcons and other large birds are making a big come back all over the country. In fact, a falcon had lunch in my back yard last Sunday. This mainly due to the banning of DDT's and other pesticides that were widely used for mosquito control. I wouldn't worry about calling anybody, just keep your eyes open and enjoy the view.

You could call your local ACO (animal control officer), or call your local humane society and ask some one.

When I lived in a city in Maine there was a baby moose running around town. Some one called the cops, they went and blocked off I don't know how many streets to try to catch him. They did catch him tho. After they were out there nearly all day.
