I believe in God as well but God doesn't belong in a science class. What do you say?

I don't understand it myself, and I live in Kansas. They don't seem to have gotten the picture that the parents of the State of Kansas don't want the school board to fool with their science standards, and want their kids to learn physical science in a physical science class...philosophy belongs in a philosophy class.

There are plenty of preachers in our area who say, "Whenever chldren's minds are being opened to education, God is there." Those who need a constant reminder of their faith, or who want to push those constant reminders on someone else's child, is very weak-faithed themselves. It makes me wonder what happened to "I shall fear no evil."

The group that wanted ID in the schools were all voted out in a primary. The Republican candidates that replaced them were all against ID (as are the Democrats). This being said, ID is out in Kansas.

If you read the article closely (it isn't winning any awards for clarity), the board plans to overturn the previous pro-ID science curriculum.

Religion does not belong in a science class. ID is not science at all. It is an assertion based on a religious belief. It has no evidence for it, cannot be tested, and makes no predictions that can be verified. The ToE has all of the above. End of story.

ID is not science. It doesn't follow or utilize the scientific method. For this reason it doesn't belong in science class. ID could be discussed in religion or philosophy class. It also can be discussed in church. It has no place in the science classroom.

ok, before God was taken out of the schools....there were no teens walking through the doors shooting everything and killing people. Before God was taken out of the schools, kids weren't being punished for taking their Bibles to school or even talking about God. And if these things were going on, it wasn't BECAUSE of God. I say that God created this whole earth and even created you, he DOES belong in science class, and I say this because I read the Bible and I know in my heart that his way and his will is ultimate and perfect.

...There is not a thing wrong with the Kansas Bible thumpers. I think there is something wrong with the evolutionists who fight against those who have valid objections to the theory of evolution and wish to express it. It also shows that folks who claim to be "tolerant" really are not so tolerant after all (unless one agrees with them).
...Refusing to hear other theories of the origins of the Earth violates our freedom of speech and the free exercise of religion, guaranteed all of us in the US Constitution.
...God is relevant everywhere; He is Lord of all.
...Psalm 14:1 "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.'"
...Colossians 2:8 says this:
...8 "See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ."
...Cling to Jesus; trust in Him and His word.
...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. (Acts 16:31)
...Whosoever will, may come.

What a goofy thing to say. God greif man, God created science. Even Albert Einstien said so. God belongs in every class as long as He created everything. Gosh man, where you been?

Religion and science have battled before.

Science has always won.

If school is to promote education and independent thought...
Why not DISCUSS the idea of ID????

Only the small minded thinks its "Freedom FROM religion".

How can you claim to believe in God and say he doesn't belong in school books? Apparently you believe in some God but not the one and only.
