6 - 12 months is the usual age for the first heat depending on breed!
if you plan to keep her whole then take precautions beforehand make sure she can't escape from the garden etc. You shouldn't let her breed till she's at least 18 months old though most breeders wait till the dog is 2 or 3 yrs old! This gives her time to mature and then she'll be ready to produce good pups! If you don't intend breeding and you shouldn't, if its a pet then get her spayed before she starts her heat cycle!

There is no set age, they can come in heat from 4 months to 18 months of age, all depending on breed, and if purebred their line. Size and breed are factors.

I am a big fan of spaying and neutering your dogs, which can be done before they come into heat.

A dog usually goes into heat from 7-9 months. A first heat can be a silent one. You may not have even noticed it besides a little extra licking. No blood or bad attitude.

Some breeds will have their first heat about 6 months of age. Hopefully you are not planning on breeding her yet. If you are....wait until she is at least 2 years old.

Some puppies don't come into season until they are no longer puppies! The latest I've owned was 17 months old when she had her first season.

they can go into heat at about 6 months of age but do not let them be bred at that age but wait till at least a year.

Why would you want to put your dog in a magazine?
