when i was his age i was allowed to decide if i wanted to see my father or not
my father was an absentee ******* who only wanted to take me every other weekend to **** my mom off
the court ordered that if i did not want to spend time with my father i did not have to....but this was after my father took my mom to court because he was convinced she was telling me not to see him
in reality i was the one that made that decision and the judge found that to be true after meeting with me and determining that i was quite aware of what was going on around me

yes because a son with out a father is like having no life and no one he can talk about that really is going on so yeah he needs to see his father and if there is a purpose of not seeing his father that is involved on your son then don't but be aware that if not it will hurt him for life it wouldn't hurt seeing him once a while

If there is a court order stating that his father has visitation then yes. If there is no custody arragement giving him visitation, then technically...no. Why are you trying to keep your son from his father? Is there an issue with abuse, or do you just not want him to see his father? Is this something your son has expressed to you, and if so....find out why. If something is going on when he is with his father that shouldn't be....you need to deal with that. Especially if he has legal visitation.

You need to elaborate more on your question. What's the reason you don't want them to meet? If he's a child molestor, I can understand that. But, just because the relationship didn't work out between you adults, it doesn't mean that the child doesn't need to know about his father/ cut all ties. He will be curious, and I think it's a bit too much if you continue to do this to him. Let the kid decide what he wants.

You didn't give any reason why he shouldn't. By law he's entitled to unless he's been declared an unfit father by the courts and you have an order to block him from seeing the son

Does not HAVE to, but unless the father is a danger....
Boys need a father! part time is better than none...
If the man really wants to act like a Dad, love the boy and take him to ball games...... let him - its best for everyone!

you have not given any information regarding this situation , what kind of answer are you expecting. Generally a 9 year old boy should be seeing his father without supervision/with supervision. ,depending on the situation.

As long as your child wants to see his father and there are no other issues, then yes he has to see his father. If it is against the child's wishes, you cannot make him go. It has to be his will no matter how you feel about it.

I would recommend it. However, if his father is violent, he should not be exposed to such drama. I grew up without my father, and I think I still turned out OK. If he wants to see his father, you should let him unless his father would put your son in any danger.
