I don't think that many people realize that toyotas are made in the USA. Nascar, however, is an american racing league and lets face it, Toyota is a japanese car. IIf we let them into nascar then who knows what will be next. I already can't tell one car from another. I don't need fifty diferent makes out there racing. Oh and i know there are only 43 cars, i was just trying to make a point. Can we please keep it to American cars.

What amaze me is all the pathetic people who don't want Toyota to be in Nascar when they are actually built in the USA. All the American brands are made in Mexico or Canada. Now you tell me, how in the world fans call Nascar an American sport when you outsource your workers.
Competition is good for every sport and consumers. It would be interesting to see VolksWagen enter.
Now for my ranting. Nascar in my opinion is lame compared to other auto sports such as F1. A loop isn't as fun as corners with different inclines and stretches.

Toyota puts more into America's economy than GM, Ford, or Chrysler. They build more vehicles here and create many jobs. The newest plant in San Antonio has 44 suppliers that built right around the Toyota plant. That's a lot of money for our country!

does it matter? nascar has managed to make every car the same it does not matter what name tag is on it. every rule change for performance related to body style/aerodynamics makes the cars more alike. the fusion and camry are 4 doors and the monte carlo is a 2 door sure can't tell it by looking at the cars. toyota will dump a lot of money into the teams but it is the teams that make the difference not the cars.

Toy Yoda is investing hundreds of millions here in Ontario Canada with a new plant,...so all of you out there who keep reminding every one that Ford, and Chevs are built in Canada and Mexico, well now Toy Yoda is re-investing your money outside of your borders as well.
I personally don't believe all the hype on quality, they are often better on initial quality...but it's often fit and finish issue...and the gap is so small now...I'm not sure it's worth it...
Also you have to wonder after your neighbor says "I'll never buy American Junk Again!!!"...will he then turn to you and say"You know what...I was wrong...my Toyota is junk too!" nope...people are quick to complain about their bow tie or ford like leaping lemmings but is it based on reality?...BUY AMERICAN...unless your paycheck comes from the other.
Darrel Waltrip owns Volvo dealerships by the way!

Yes. Toyotas, Mitsubishis, Nissans...all made in America by Americans. No reason for Toyota NOT to be in NASCAR but it does make you sit up and take notice.

Yeah...and the quality of Toyota versus american owned junk like FORD and Chevy will quickly become the norm in other racing circles too! And as far as the response about profits being shipped back to Japan???? Do you really care if those profits are going to Richard Wagoner, the Ford family or Yukitoshi Funo? If you do, you really need to get a life! Either way, it's jobs and tax revenue base created here in the states that matters.

Not like ANY of them are really Fords, Chevys, Dodges or Toyotas anyway. Just stickers on custom built machines. "Nothing stock about stock car racing" as they say. Doesn't even look remotely like a Camry.
