I drive a rear-wheel standard 6 speed. It's stuck in the snow while parked on the curb. Any suggestions in getting it out when i'm done with work? It spins out quite a bit.

Get a buddy with a truck and a tow strap to pull you out.

Shovel in front and the rear of each tire a path of three feet. If handy sprinkle calcium chloride on the ground in the paths you shoveled. It's available in Lowe's, Home Depot, hardware, Wal Mart. If your a lady a long handled flat shovel is best. It's tough to dig out compressed snow with a snow shovel. They're too big, short handled and weak for the job. Do you live in upstate NY.? I could be in Oswego in two hrs. to get it out for you with my four wheel driver!

clear space around the front and rear wheels witha shovel, lay down some sand or cat litter in front of and under the drive wheel. A push or pull wouldnt hurt either. Dont accelerate hard.

Almost all of the above answers are good.. (sand, shovel, digging, 2nd gear which only works if you have a stick).. but one other thing that often will REALLY help is to load up the back.

We used to call it poor-mans-positraction.

Simply put a lot of weight on or behind the drive wheels so that they have more bite on the ground. That plus the shoveled ground and sand would usually get us started.

Once Started, however, make sure you have cleared a path for the car to move in or you will simply get stuck a few feet further on.

(or.. the SURE, guaranteed, double your money back method that ALWAYS works..........................

....................................... wait until spring

(sorry.. couldn't resist).

good luck

You can call a tow truck if it's stuck badly, or take the advice to get a buddy with a tow rope. But if you do, click here first and watch please: http://www.funny-videos.co.uk/downloads/smalltobig.wmv
