I use Amlactin. It's a moisturizer that used to be prescription only, but now is over the counter. It's similair to Lac-Hydrin 12, which is still prescription. If that doesn't help, try using Aquaphor, it's a thicker cream similar to Vaseline in texture that protects the skin and keep moisture from escaping, very effective. A good combo at night is Amlactin rubbed in well followed by Aquaphor. Because the Aquaphor is greasy, some people will put a glove on after the creams if it's your hand.

Dry skin is a big thing. One of the problem is because we wash in chlorinated water everyday. Chlorine is a bleaching agent and it strips away the natural skin oil. All the cream and lotion we put on is not the same and it is a after application. I do have dry skin myself and I use shower filter. It really help is you case is same as mine. Use shower filter and also apply the cream to see it that works. I myself uses shower filter and finds it to work for me, but still I use cream.

Aquafor (sp?) is the best....it is like a Vaseline based lotion & works wonders!
I also suggest Gold Bond Medicated Lotion *EXTRA* strength
Anything that is fragrence free should work, especially the vaseline based lotions, as they tend to keep your skin moisturized better.

Try Skin So Soft from Avon. They also have other products you can use. Contact your for Doctor some kind of prescription,i did for daughter but it's been years ago. I'm sorry I can't remember the name anyway it worked for her. Get a referral from your D.R. for Dermatologist. Don't use Vaseline on skin by itself. I thought it would work but i broke out bad. You'll get some results talk to your D.R.

Don't use lotions use body creams! They are thicker and take longer to soak in but work so much better as far as needing something rich to soak in.

Try aloe gel. You could also take Omega 3, or drink aloe vera juice or just increase your water intake to help your moisturize from the inside out.
