Sounds like the flu to me... If you're having ear pain, you may have a sinus infection that's infected your ear. Just keep up the fluids, take some Sudafed for the sinus and ear congestion, and get some Robitussin DM (dextromethorphan and guaifenisin) for the chest congestion and irritation. Keep taking the ibuprofen; it will help with the pain and faver, plus help reduce the inflammation in your sinuses and ear. Unless the ear pain gets worse, or you start coughing up greenish phlegm, you should be alright without going to the dr. If you get these symptoms, you may have developed a bacterial infection that will require antibiotics. But right now, the best the dr can do is give you an anti-viral medication that may do you no good at all. Just get some rest; you should feel better in about 4-5 days.

I am sick right now as well. Except mine started yesterday afternoon with a body ache. Then a high temp (103/104). I couldn't eat anything. I came home from work at about 4:55 and went right to bed. Slept from 5:30 to 7:15 then was up long enough to get a drink then back to bed. Then I slept for 8 1/2 hours straight. Woke up at about 3:45 am and my temp was down to 99. Went back to bed and slept till about 9:30 am. I have been able to eat a little bit today.
Yesterday I called a friend who is a critical care EMT he told me I need to drink lots of fluids. Ginger ale, Gatorade diluted half and half with water (it helps get some nutrients into your system) Try to eat little things. Crackers, jello, dry toast, soup (although I had a hard time keeping soup down). And yes if you still feel sick then stay home. It's the flu. It'll last anywhere from 24 hrs. to 4 days. All you can do is wait it out. If your temp gets high (104.5 or higher GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM)
You can also take Tylenol and mortin (at the same time). Even though i didn't take anything for my fever. It went down on it's own.

If you have some rum or something similar make you a hot toddy
2 oz rum
1 tsp sugar
5 1/2 oz boiling water
Place a sugar cube or equivalent into an Irish coffee cup or mug. Fill 2/3 full with boiling water. Add rum and stir You can use whiskey as well. It will help you. Add lemon too. If you don't drink make you a hot tea toddy same but it works best with rum or whiskey. Get to feeling better soon. :o)

I have had the same crud for a couple weeks now. Just try to drink a lot of water and eat. Also get a lot of rest.
I understand you cant get to the doctor. I live in OH and we are in the middle of a huge storm right now. So take this opportunity while you are stuck indoors to take care of yourself and hopefully you will get better and not have to see the doctor.
Good luck and stay warm!
