Thats good just make sure you try a kids perm first because your hair won't be used to a stronger adult perm. With a perm and an occassional flat iron you'll be straight for weeks

I am mixed so I have very curly (borderline nappy) hair that is somewhat fine and according to naturallycurly.com (great site) I am a 3b. My mom is a former beautician and she used to perm straighten my hair once or twice a year. I always loved it initially but hated it later (then forgot how much I hated it and allwed her to do it again). The most important things are:
1. Make sure the straigtener is applied evenly and rinsed evenly, otherwise you get some hair that is limper than other and it is a pain.
2. Be sure to repair the hair with the recommended treatments and followup conditioners. Also DO NOT color your hair within a good chunk of time after your perm.
3. Blow your hair dry directly after the perm so that you encourage it to be straight
4. Have appropriate expectations, your hair will not be jet straight and shiny when you roll out of bed. In fact, my friends never believed that I had done it because my hair just looked a bit more tame than it used to but no where near straight!
Good luck, we curly heads have it rough!
Also remember curly hair grows out slower than most, I stopped perming my hair 2 years ago but you can still see the line of demarcation

NOOOO!!!!!! Dont do it, it burns your hair and takes waway the thickness. Me and my sister have very curly hair but she went and did the straight perm and must i say it was UGLY!! As her hair would grow the top part was curly then the rest wold be straight, she had to cut her hair REALLY short becuase it looked funky! What's wrong with curly hair?? AANd if you would still rather straighten it then just keep doing the flat iron thing.

I got one and yes it did straighten my very curly hair..but IT SHOULD HAVE..it took half of the the thickness away!! lol. So, for me, I say no because it just damages the hair..I say keep it healthy and go in for blow outs when u want to look extra sleek. Try wrapping it up @ night and smoothing it naturally with a comb,,its a training process. Good Luck

don't do it, it's too much processing for your hair all at once, it can ruin your hair.
