On most sticks of butter (margerine) there are marking showing the number of tablespoons. 1 stick = 8 tablespoons or 1/2 cup, so 2 sticks = 16 tablespoons or 1 cup. If you are using tub margerine measure 1 cup. If you are using olive oil (healthier) instead of butter or margerine use 8 ounces = 1 cup. Hope this helps.

There are 16 tablespoons of butter in a cup. If you use stick butter, one stick is 8 tablespoons or half a cup. So, two cups or 18 tablespoons equals one cup. :o)
