Anyone got an interesting haircut story.Maybe when you were at school even did barber/salon cut it too short? Did your mum or dad do the haircuts at home. Was the short haircut your idea even or were you taken by parents and sort of made to get the haircut? how did you feel about it as you got cut and afterwards? Was it a modern hairdresser or older type shop. Maybe mum/dad had clippers at home to use on you. If you were a girl did your mum ever let a barber trim you as it was nearer /cheaper /family friend? Any stories id be delighted to hear thankyou in advance. If you have a really good story email me direct even id love to hear from you.

I am going to narrate the story of haircutting long time ago. Those days, we used to have a barber- an old man- who will be summoned to our home. All men folk are supposed to be ready on that holiday for haircut. The barber will have a manual machine, a pair of scissors one or two combs, a steel knife and a leather flap. As soon as he comes, the place reserved for him will be shown. He will take a chair and place it nicely. Then will start sharpening the knife ( for shaving) by "rubbing" on the leather belt(?). First the seniors will come and sit on the chair. He will cut their hair and do the shaving also. The intersting part will be the stories that he will narrate. It used to be more informative than the newspapers, those days. Once the seniors are over, he will have his breakfast. Then our turn will come. We are not supposed to sit on the chair. we will be sitting on a plank of wood. The barber will sit in front of us. He will keep our head between his knees and start working with the machine. Machines are meant for easy cutting and are used mainly on children. Scissors are considered more sophisticated and are used for adults. The machines are sharpened rarely and invariably the hair will get caught inbetween and casue pain. We are not supposed to move our head or show that we have pain.
Going out to the barber shop and have a hair cut under the luxuary of slow running fan was something we look forward to because, that was a previlege for those who complete 10th standard in schooling. Those were the days.

I had jet black, dyed hair and I went to the hairdresser to get some highlights put through it. She just proceeded to do the highlights - no warnings nothing.

Sat me under a lamp and left me there. And left me there. And left me there... I did not know that this was not normal, but I was under an infra-red lamp for an hour! I was dehydrated and extremely ill. When they pulled the cap off my head, every single highlight strand ripped off, so I was left with 'corn stalks' all over my head.

They stood behind me when they did this (I was not in front of a mirror at this time) and then one of the women at the shop bought me a 'disclaimer form' to fill in. They duped me. I could not even see my hair at this time and certainly did not suspect a thing. I signed the form...they were saying things like 'It's no problem - we just should have asked you to fill it in earlier! They were all light-hearted about it. Once the form was signed, they went into overdrive, saying that I should not have gone against their advice not to have it done (They never advised me) etc etc. It was only after all this that I asked to see my hair. I was absolutely stunned and nearly fainted there and then on the spot. I was ill from the lamp too.

I couldn't do a single thing and still harbour extreme resentment over it!

Never move from the mirror, and if something doesn't feel right, shout about it. I know now that I should have done.

I had to have all my hair cut off (G.I Jane style). and although it has grown back now, I don't think that even now I would be able to stop myself from stabbing the woman that did it to me.

I haven't been to a hairdressers since and have cut my own hair for years now. And I often get asked where I have it done! (Probably so that they can avoid the shop!) Hee Hee!

this was completely a horror story for me because i love my hair it's like really long and curly and it took me ages to grow it after what happened in my story: I was around ten at the time: i thought a fringe would look really good on my hair, and a bit cut off the bottoms of my hair. then my friend said that she would do it (but i was'nt too sure) she kept asking me could she do it like everyday ,so i said yeah. She took my mirror away and said you cant look at this untill it's done so i said 'fine whatever'. I closed my eyes cause i could'nt bare the thought of my beautiful hair getting cut off. She was cutting my hair for at least an hour and a half, then she was finished. i looked at my hair and she had cut it really short and i did'nt even have a fringe it was up near my hair line on my head. I was really imbarassed. I'm sixteen now (going on seventeen) and my hair has grown back to the way it was b4 she cut it. {she's not gonna go near my hair no more} (CRINGE!)

My hairdressers get combs stuck on my earrings all the time even when I WARN them. That is not fun.

I also had my hair put in a very fancy updo for a wedding, and she sprayed hairspray in my hair, combed through it very roughly to tease it, curled it then shoved about 50 bobby pins in... I can't believe how painful it was.

I got a haircut last month and the person misunderstood me and cut an inch and a half off my hair... after I told them I was "GROWING IT OUT." I wanted to hit somebody.

I always cut my own bangs because stylists around her suck and one late night I was cutting my bangs and decided to do a little more than usual and to trim some layers on top to blend in with the bangs but ended up getting carried away and my bangs where too short and uneven, and also got carried away with the "layers" which were also uneven and my long hair was now incredibly thin and ****** up. By the end, there was a huge pile of hair on the floor and I ended up wearing a hat my friend made out of news paper for about a month.

I've got one, but it wasn't good.
I went to Paris for a weekend to see my uncle's wedding. Before I went to the manor that a party was being held, I had to get my hair done and so I went to a Parisian hairdresser in the Champs-Elysees. I thought it would cost a load, but I still went anyway because I had really long hair at the time and I wanted it to be in the safest hands, or at least I thought it would be.
Firstly, a girl washed my hair, cut it and blow-dried it. When she was running the brush through my hair, I could feel chunks of my hair being brutally pulled out of my scalp. I gritted my teeth and told myself that it would be all over.
Then, she put my hair into a low ponytail and literally ripped sections of my hair and twisted them tightly. She then twisted each one into place and stabbed me with a clip to keep it there. I could feel the clip digging into my scalp, but I told myself that I will get used to the pain.
Eventually, after gritting my teeth for 60 long minutes, I walked out and sat in my car and my uncle was driving it. I sat at the back, and cried my eyes out because some of the enamel on my teeth had crumbled off and it hurt, and also I couldn't lean back onto the seat or else a clip would dig further into my head.
It was painful. Very, very painful.

I had never cut my hair because I grew up in a very fundamentalist home and I wasn't allowed. When I moved out, I cut it all off and donated it to Locks of Love.
