You already know you don't want to be clingy. So just back up and take it easy. Its an issue within yourself. So maybe try to focus on your own achievements or goals or whatever. You've got to sort your own stuff out in life generally before these things come together and its a convenient way not to be clingy. Force yourself to only give him small bursts of attention, it will drive him crazy to go for you more.

I used to be clingy.. It never works. I am not a believer in self help books but I do recommend The Rules. It is fantastic. If you follow everything that it says, you will have the upper hand. Trust me it works.
Oh. their web-site is a little weird but the book is great!!!

I know the feeling. When I fall for a guy he becomes the center of my attention. You just have to hold yourself back and don't get excited when you see him. (at least don't let him know) Still be friendly but a little stand-offish. If he really likes you he'll start following you around because he misses the attention.

First off you never let someone know how interested you really are. You have to have some self control or the situation is gonna control you. Know one wants to be with someone that clings, so back up and check yourself. Distance makes the heart grow stronger and relationship last longer. Trust me I know.

Just think of the things that you don't like about it. Think about it when you wake up, continuously; and eventually you won't be clingy of him anymore. Hope that helps :)

get a hobby. call a friend. join a sport. learn a new language. start playing boggle or scrabble on the internet (it's fun).

really, as you get older you'll see that this isn't so healthy, and your time would be better spent doing pretty much anything else. break the cycle..

Replace him with something else. If you hung out with him a lot, find a new hobby. If you thought about him a lot, occupy yourself with something or someone else to think about. The best way to forget about someone is to replace him with something new in your life.
