I have a really bad habit of procrastinating when it comes to homework and then it never gets in on time.
My grades are steadily getting worse and worse. I need to come up with a better way to get homework done and do it when it needs to be done. Any ideas on how I can get into a good homework schedule?

Over winter break, read the book Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teens.
I use this book with my students. It's very good and gives very practical advice.

However, procrastination is a choice. You need to decide what your priorities are. Why do you want to do better at homework? If it's just to get out of being grounded, that's not a good enough reason. You have to want better grades for YOU, not just to keep teachers and parents off your back. You need to really believe that learning is important and have a goal in mind....Do you want to go to college? Then make an appointment and meet with an admissions counselor and find out exactly what you need to have for grades to get in. Then make that your goal.
The book talks a alot about goals. Without them, it's really hard to stay on track....

The other thing to think about is this: Do you have some real difficulty paying attention? Do people say you're an "underachiever". Do you really want to do well but just "can't" seem to focus? You may have some problems with attention. If this sounds like you, you might want to talk to mom and dad and your guidence counselor about being tested for A.D.D. This often goes unnoticed if you are not a behavior problem and you are a girl. I'm not saying that you have it, I'm just saying that it might be worth discussing with a counselor.

In the meantime, read the book over vacation and use the ideas they talk about. If you follow them, you will be successful!

Well, u obviosly suffer from homework blues.
Well. luckily i have a cure for that.
Cure1: Try organizing ur time and don't do all ur homework at once.
Do half ur homework then spend half and hour on leisure then finish the other half.

Cure2: For the exams, u have to follow the SQ3R.
SQ3R means Survey, question, read, recite, review.

It's great that you realize that you have a problem and you want to chage. I suggest you go to your teacher and tell him/her about your problem, teachers are impressed when a student comes to them wanting to improve themselved. Your teacher knows you better than we do, and would be able to offer some suggestions that are tailored to you. Good luck!
