When I was growing up as a poor child in a remote area, we didn't have access to a lot of extras. But I did grow up loving baked potatoes. Back then, we'd cut the potato in 1/2, mash each half with a fork, add some margerine and a dribble or two of Carnation milk, and salt and pepper. Ummm, good!
My favourite now? twice-baked - where the potatoes are removed from the skin, mashed with Carnation (of course!), butter, cheese,and garlic, then stuffed back into the shell and heated through until the cheese melts. Then top with sour cream, chives, salt and pepper.

BUTTER!!! with salt and pepper. After that a little bit of sour cream some cheese, bacon and lots of chives!!!! YUMMY! Now I want a baked potatoe!

I totally agree with you except for the onion part. Unless they are finely diced and sauteed really well and there isn't a whole lot of them. MMMMMMM, I'm getting hungry!!
