my blood tests are all fine, I have no diseases or anything, i had a miscarriage a year ago and seem to have a few hormone problems which they're still trying to sort out and just very very run down. I just feel I want to give my system a clean up as i seem to have allergies and it may help the fatigue but don't know if fasting would be too much of a 'shock' to the system when I've been through so much? Should i wait or would it be ok to do it now, while i'm not working so i can rest at the same time. I can't get a 'feel' for what's the right thing to do so I would like some advice?

Some body types can fast with no ill effects. Others can't.
You really should see a properly qualified nutritionist before undertaking any radical dietary change.
At least, speak to your doctor.
Fasting can be beneficial for some. For others it can result in serious problems.

The fast would probably help. Up to 2/3 of the energy of food us used in the utilization of food. (digestion). My best guess is that it would be healing. You will feel somewhat worse as your body works to clean up whatever it needs to clean up, when you give it the opportunity to clean house (by ceasing to give it a new job of digestion every few hours)

a recent study showed that detox diets are pointless. Just eat plenty of fruit and veg AS PART OF A BALANCED DIET. Also, make sure you are not a vegetarian.
