hey i want to use my xp home edition as a dvr, like the media center on the vista home premimum or ultimate, is there any way for me to do that?

You can't do that Properly on XP Home as it is. You either need an OS Upgrade, or Use Hardware that will take a TV signal to a PC... but I would not recommend it.

I would look at ditching your XP Home and installing MythTV which is a linux based OS designed around being a DVR.

Much more functionality as far as DVRs go than what Windows MCE can do.
