Tell him you want to take time away to see how you react to being away from him. Be honest. It's better to get it over with than lead him on. My gf and I are in the same situation and I'm being lead on right now cuz she can't make a decision and it hurts more than if she was to tell me the truth. This from a mans perspective.

The fact that you're asking tells much.
You don't want to date him, but you're too needy and insecure to let him go. You're asking total strangers in a desperate search for validation.
Don't be selfish. Tell him you're wasting his time and allow him to persue his happiness where he might find it.

Talk to him about it. Tell him how you are feeling and let him know it's not someone else, it's just how you are feeling right now. Be honest with him.
