not usually...typically it will state being whole grain on the label or in the list of ingredients.

Yes, they are heavy breads in weight.. you can usually tell how much whole grain is in a bread by its weight. The lighter the bread the less whole grains, ie croissant roll is a whole lot lighter than say a rye roll.
