I'm not sure where you're living right now as that would be the deciding factor on how easily you could change your name. I know in America, provided you have proper documentation, you can go to your local court house and apply for your name change. Of course, you'd also have to apply for another social security card with your new name.

As far as what name you'd like to change over to, I think it should definitely be up to you. If you're at a loss of ideas on what names you like, then try getting a book of baby names. Better yet, there are hundreds of baby name websites you could look through. Not only will you find names, but you'll also find the meanings of the name. For example, my daughter's name means "strength, fighter, survivor."

Take your time and try to pick out 10 names that you like the best. Then slowly, take your time and narrow them down one-by-one. It's important that you take your time of course! After all, this is the name that's going to be on any identification as well as what people will be calling you! Congrats on the new move in life and I hope you find your perfect name. Good luck!

Anyone in america can change their name to anything they want to. Ther is a fee for legal name change and if you are serious do it legally for social security and tax purposes. As for to what you have the freedom to make that choice all on your own. Be creative!
