Do you also think that it could be possible that ur name means anything to God, even though it doesnt mean anything in particular in any other language?

yes it does, whether we realize it or not. There's always a mystery that surrounds our name, something like magic spell that have been bestowed upon us since we were born. There's no specific or any scienctific answer to this question, its just remain mystery.

It would depend on which name I've been called, some less flattering. My mother keeps calling me Bobby, a take on my middle name. My signature is my full name, but not the same name I used growing up. In my day, teachers made us use the last name of our stepfathers, even though I were not adopted. Caused all kinds of problems when I got married. The marriage had to be in my birth name. Things may have been had I been able to keep my stepfather's name, Loven. Can't seem to find a direct meaning behind the name.

My taxi passengers call me Papa Bear.

Yes, you are right. At birth we already have a personality given to us by the laws of material nature or karma so it is not a coincidence that we are given a name that suit us. Getting the name we are given at birth by our parents is part of our karma, not the other way around. Our name as well as our gender, weaknesses and qualities are there when we take birth, also the time we'll inhabit the body is given to us at the time of birth.

No the name plays no part of who you are. If it was then people with the same name would all be alike. Yes maybe to God your name means something, but he might have another name for us that we do not know.

No, as you are given your name before you have formed your own personality, you should be given a temporary name untill you decide if the name given at birth suits you or if you want another name.

Interesting question. Your name I believe may play a part if your name is something radical like my friend whose last name is Dickburn. Yup, Josh Dickburn, and he does act like at times. And another funny thing is that his middle "initial" is Q. It doesn't stand for anything: his middle name is Q. You can imagine what Josh is like. Heh-heh.

Your name can certainly have an effect on who you are. People would be apt to treat you different if your name is, say, Ugein rather than John.

i have noticed a lot of similarities with people who share names
not enough to know if it is coincidence or not
and not enough to know that the name makes the person or the person makes the name
and it is our parents who give us the name not God ( with respect )
but yes of course our names have meanings ... my own means messenger ( Angela )

The man makes the clothes, the clothes don't make the man.

just substitute "name" for "clothes".

although its funny that i have noticed that a bunch of the "Joe's" i know all have some similar traits, so i could be wrong.
