Car fax will tell you if a vehicle that you have the VIN for was ever registered commercial, but won't give you any registration information other than that.
Bottom line, under the law, registration information is restricted and you can't get any specifics.

as long as you have your car's VIN number (usually its printed on the title) you can use carfax.com (as stated above) and plug in the number to get the vehicle history. Its NOT a registration history, but will give you a complete list of owners, inspection dates, accidents or reposition on the cars.
PS: Catch is, to get the complete list, you have to pay like $20 for the thing and they will email it to you or for the life of it, you can run as many vin numbers as you want.
You can also get a list of the vehicle history thru your local DMV (process might take longer than Carfax).
