Exodus 33:19
" And the LORD said, "I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
Are we made in His image? Then we must do what He does? We must give mercy to whom we will choose? Is that the Justice of God? Is this teaching moral?? Maybe we are confused and Blind and accept everything without discussion just because God said it? Can you see that only a people could write this ? Because the man is of that nature.

cdnreserv.. said: "God makes the sun rise on the righteous and unrighteuos"
:-) LOL i cannot imagine how he could rise the sun only on the righteous. !!!
Well seriously... the sun and moon has their laws that govern them. God is nothing to do with them. I don't believe god even exist.

God doesn't have much mercy, according to the Bible. He often commanded the slaughter of thousands, including women, children, and infants, just so the Israelites could have more land. He is said to have caused a great flood in which every living thing was drowned, and that, too, would have included children and babies. He was so mad at Sodom and Gomorrah that he burnt their cities, not sparing the innocent children but burning them to death, too. On the rare occasions when God showed mercy, it was only to the Israelites; he had no love or care for the gentile nations, as they existed only to provide Israel with land, cattle, slaves, and virgins.

Like Jesus said, "you are in error because you do not know the scriptures or the power of God". The best commentary on that verse is the Apostle Paul's writings to the believers in Rome (read chapter 9).
That verse is a statement about the nature of a sovereign, just, and merciful God. In order for His mercy to be real, there must be a real punishment to which we all are subject. The objects of his compassion will glorify His name, because they have been saved from a real wrath that they deserved.
I cannot interpret that verse to mean that I can demonstrate compassion arbitrarily to my fellow men. I may have been created in the image of God (so I can demonstrate compassion and mercy), but I am not God (so that I can do it with perfect knowledge and from a position of authority over the punishment).

Here's the thing. You take this verse about God's character, and then make a weak connection to a what that means for us. It is not as simple as saying we are made in his image, and therefore do what he does. This is not a Bible verse. "Then we must do what he does." It is only one sentence but it makes such a big difference. Jesus was our example of how to live. We can not make decisions like God, because we are not God. That is why we are commanded not to judge others outside of the church, and any moral judgments made inside the church must be purely Biblical and made by someone who does not have "a log in their own eye." The point you are trying to make is not valid since you are not pointing out immoral teachings, but simply how you choose to misinterpret scripture and show false dichotomies.

God "makes the sun rise on the righteous and unrighteuos" so he is merciful and shows love to all...to some extent. when asked how many times we must forgive our brother jesus said 77...he didnt mean only 77, and didnt mean only forgive our brother. God shows mercy to all who repent and loves all people and thusly gave his son in death for all.

You are taking Romans completely out of context.
We are meant to live according to the 10 commandments and these: Love the Lord your God and love your neighbour as yourself.
