The Bible is a huge collection of stories (related to events wich happened thousands of years before), compiled by different people throughout many centuries. It needs to be said that the Bible is quite inaccurate since most of the story told in its pages has been arbitrarely changed in order to suit the ,by then emerging, Monotheistic Faith. In order to set the record straight and read the true story, people should read the original texts written by the Sumerians around 5000 years ago; only after doing that, most of the verses of the Bible get to add up once read in their original context and with the appropriate corrections. I believe that NO BOOK should EVER be destroyed, not even the religious ones; so, what I think should be done is to give the Bible the right place and to teach people the truth; the Bible should NOT be regarded as a 'supernatural' work, since it was HISTORICALLY WRITTEN BY MEN, and it should also be considered just a re-make of more ancient texts which actually tell the TRUTH. People shoud be taught to READ and LEARN, giving up the path of IGNORANCE that the CHURCH, as well as the other Faiths' religious leaders, use as a means to brainwash, threaten, control and scruplessly rule the world.

1. Good stories.
2. Abuse... that's putting it lightly! There were wars started over this thing!!
3. If I had the power to decide on the fate of the Bible, I would leave it alone. I'm not a Nazi, and I don't believe in destroying ART... which is what it really is. If there was a different way- say by delaying its release until people had the brains to tell the difference between fiction and reality- I'd do that.

It is the Word of the Living God who is more than able to protect His Word. God said heaven and earth may pass away but His Word would not pass. God said His word would not return to Him void. That means everything mentioned in the Bible King James Version will come true. All prophesies in this book have come true or are coming true in the future. The greatest proof are the Jewish people returning to Israel and becoming a nation in one day speaking the Hebrew language. This has never happened in world history of any people. Thousands of years ago in the Bible it was prophesied to happen and it did. The Bible said they would return on "wings of eagles." Best way a BC man could describe the airplane. The Bible said the circle of the earth, long before man knew earth was round. Book of Job describes the Dinosaur and the fire breathing dragon. Noah's Flood of the Bible is talked about in every nation of the world.

YOU CAN'T DESTROY THE WORD OF GOD. ALL MEN WILL BE JUDGED BY GOD'S WORD.

I think bible is a pretty good epic story like Homer's Odysseia , Mahabarata etc. Very good to put fantasy in this boring world. Also it is good for justify yourself for the actions that you have did or you have not done, it is good to distract you from your real problems and failures. And i think where fantasy is needed Bible always will have a place at the shelfs of the libraries. As long knowledge is still incomplete and they are still things that they have not been discovered and explained the Bible will be as a substitution of truth and reality.

'The bible is our instruction book while here on Earth'. what utter rubbish! humans have been on this earth for far longer than the bible. what do you think they did before the bible was made up. i bet everyone was nice to each other and did not judge others.

the bible seems to me like a rule book that was written to impose law and order on a civilisation 2000 years ago. it was probably useful back then just as fearing the sun god may have been useful for the mayans to maintain peace in their communities. however, the majority of us now realise that there is no sun god just as we should also realise that there is no real jesus or god.

wake up you fools!

xx

The Bible is our instruction book while here on Earth. If more people actually followed Jesus and His Word, the world would be a much better place. If I had the power to decide the fate of the Bible, I'd have one in everyone's possession, in their own language.

I believe that the Bible is a nice book to read, but don't read into something that isn't there. Don't try and find hidden meanings, don't twist it to help you out. Look at it as a history book. If we did that, I think the would world be a happier place.

I think the Bible is a great story that holds many truths. But, like any religious texts, it can be used to condone and even reinforce hate and bigotry.I think people need to think for themselves more and not use Bible passages as instruments for thoughtless arguments. The Bible has been very useful for humanity but it has also been a great source of abuse.Like a weapon, the Bible can insure peace or it can be used to kill.

Looking at the majority of the replies to this question I worry about the state of the world in the hands of people like these.

There is a lack of tolerance
There is a degree of hypocrisy
There is overwhelming hints of dictatorship
There is a obvious degree of mis-education
There is a anger that is destructive in its intents

People please look at your selves before you cast stones !!!!!
