A while ago i lost my credit card and got a new one. I got a copy of my credit report and my credit card company had reported this lost/stolen card to the credit bureaus. Why would they do this, and will this negatively affect me credit-wise?

I cant imagine that would ever hurt your credit report. If it did, maybe it would be by a point or two.

Perpahs if you have a history of LOSING cards all the time that could hurt you, but having a carr stolen/lost once is not going to be a problem on yuor credit score.

In reality it happend to most people at some point in their lives.

I don't think it will negatively affect your rating. Only thing is if they canceled the old number and issued you a new one, the average length of your credit (how long you have had your cards or accounts in average) might get shorter, which could lower your rating somewhat.
