Why when a poor man marries a rich woman, he is trying to establish himself, and to help in his career; when a poor woman marries a rich man, she is a golddigger?

Knew several men who dumped their poor wives, one - with two children, and married rich. Both cleaned the rich wives and are now respectable and well-loved members of their communities.

And why, then, it is ok to marry for money to establish yourself, and not just for money, what's the difference?

Because the woman isn't trying to establish herself or to help her career. She's just out for the money, plain and simple.

Of course, not all women who marry rich men are golddiggers. I almost married a guy who is very financially comfortable. I wouldn't call him rich, but he's doing well financially. But that's not the reason I almost married him.

And in the end, I didn't marry him even though I knew he had money -- which proves that money is not what I'm after in a husband.

In all my life I never heard of a rich woman condescending to marry a poor man. She may have a quickie with the gardener, but she isn't going to marry him. A poor woman has a good shot at marrying a rich man if she is good looking. Otherwise forget it. She won't be considered a gold digger unless the guy is way too old for her, or terminally ill.

No I don't believe that is always the case.

For Women, society can be harsh on women, but a lot of women that do marry rich men are only marrying for the fact that they do want the easy life.

In the end, it never turns out that way.
