I have an indented scar on my neck from where I had a mole removed last august. It is completely healed but it still has a darker color to it. If I lay out in the sun this summer will it help fade my scar. If not then what can I do to make it more of a skin color?

Nope. Actually the sun gives it more color and makes it more noticeable. I have a big scar on my arm from surgery and it's light and skin colored until the sun hits it. Then it turns all red, blue and purple again.

Wear sunblock and time will fade it, maybe some vitamin E.

Scars generally don't have any melanin in them (dark pigment), so the sun won't help restore the colour. If anything, the sun will cause further skin damage and it will take longer for your scar to fade and heal. Always cover your scars in sunscreen before going outdoors.

I have a large scar on my knee from a surgery that I had, and I go to the tanning bed closer to summer and YES it does fade it away, until your tan goes away. At least it does with my scar, it makes it less noticable. So yes it will fade your scar.

NO! Dont let your scar get too much sun. They turn darker with more sun exposure. If you are light skinned, they will turn a brighter pink color. If youre dark skinned, they will turn a dark tan and its not pretty. I did that with my c-section scar and it was awful. Get Mederma or something like that. Those creams really do work.

No it will make it worse.
There are creams that will lighten your scars. I've used Elicina and it works. This stretch mark cream also worked it was Dermatex or something.
Other than that, only time.
