Hiv mutates very often for it to respond to long term drugs.....and consider this....when hiv was discovered, it was exotic, unknown, unheard of.....today the common man knows about it and how it can be prevented...is this not a victory for the medical field?

In a matter of two decades we now know know a lot more about hiv (down to its genome) than we know about diseases that have afflicted humanity for ages.....is this possible if doctors stopped researching??

It is most preposterous to suggest that medical proffesionals have stopped searching for a cure....

HIV was first identified in the eighties.
Check out this article. Its a little old, but it does show that we are moving in the right direction for a treatment. But a cure is going to be harder because the virus sticks its genome into ours.

Life on the moon? What moon are you referring to? There's no life on the Earth's moon.

There is no way to determine a date of discovery of ANY cures for diseases. I, for one, don't care if they never discover a cure. It'll only allow more people to freely engage in casual and irresponsible sexual behavior. Many people already do so now. The discovery of a cure for HIV and other incurable STDs will only provide a free-for-all in the sexual revolution. There are too many young girls who become pregnant and the results are welfare, higher taxes for others to support them. We need sexual diseases to scare the hell out of them.

Engineering progress and scientific progress are not same. And research has not stopped and is going on. So, don't feel so despondent. And when and where it was discovered? Africa, in mid fifties or so (writing from memory).
