I don't think Manny should replace Jose Rizal because of boxing. I do, however, think that he is a hero. He inspires many people to strive and acheive what they want to reach. He carries the morale of the Filipino people. He inspires and excites people of all ages, class, and types. Whenever he fights, there is a dramatic decrease in crime rate.
My view of my childhood hero has lowered in all aspects, though. This is because he allowed the administration to coax him into battling for a political seat. I believe that if he wants to help the country, I think he should leave politics alone and continue inspiring people. Plus, he earns millions of dollars in boxing.

no. regardless of his standiing he is just a participant in a sport who makes a lot of money and brings the citzens of a country along with people of that particular ethnic origin elsewhere, together for the night(s) that he gets into the ring and boxes. he makes u proud to be filipino but i doubt he'll be in any pinoy historybooks other than in the sports section. that is unless he runs for president and has a significant impact on things.
