i personally dont lkie them. they focas on death. ot soooo good. but many many 12 year olds listen to them.... but if you can control it... its probably not good for them... tell them to listen to relient K-- they are a christian band...... and are pop/rock too.. its a good choice... they are nice people- they;ve been to my house before..

To the person way above; My Chemical Romance is NOT a mainstream band. Much less an "emo" band. They're a rock band, or as said in many interviews, they describe themselves as "violent pop". They are not in any way, shape or form and "emo" band. YOU obviously don't know much about My Chemical Romance.
Sorry.. Thought I'd just point that out.
But, I think that My Chemical Romance is appropriate for a 12 year old. I've been listening to them since I was about 12, and am 15 now. And I haven't turned out all that bad:) They're music, although revolves around serious issues, that most people would not want to even think about, always has something positive to say about that issue.

they have a tad bit of cussin, but they're new stuff has got an awesome message: life sucks, and death isn't a great escape (rolling stone... haha) i am a HUGE fan...
and i'm about 2 turn 13, ALL of my friends r 12 and 13, and half of them ain't allowed 2 listen 2 mcr.... which sucks, but u gotta read the lyrics.... if ur talkin bout the shows... wellllllll.... maybe a tad bit inappropriate (jus go on youtube and look up mcr live show) but the only reason i say it wood b inappropriate is cuz of the cussin.... but as i said, i'm 12 and luv em....
and i wood like 2 correct "lonley"... don't think of them as emo...they always tell people 2 live life 2 the fullest! how is dat emo?!

my chemical romance is simply mainstream emo music.
it honestly doesnt matter how old you are if you want to listen to it.its not "targeting 12 year old audiences" or any other specific audience.
Many people like that band...
so my answer would be yes.

MCR is appropiate for 12 year olds. I listen to them and i'm 12 and I have been listening to them since I was 11 and I'm not that bad to hang out with! My mom lets me listen to them and she doesn't give a sh*t! Besides this is a stupid question to ask? Who are you Dr.Phil?

my chemical romance is a good band for Teens/Preteens Its there target audience , They are a great emotional out lit for kids

I would personally let my child listen to them, the band and their songs are mostly Anti-Suicide songs and there's nothing wrong with some poems about death and dying you can't hide it from a child that the messages in their songs are true.

sure, it could be worse, at least a 12 year old isn't listening to trivium or psychostick or anything too intense
