It is a way to sell small salads as a expensive yuppy type food.

It helps to lose some weight! If your have a breadless sandwich its just like having perhaps a salad or a ploughmans lunch!
But who cares you cant beat some nice thick slices of bread with your favourite fillings!

I don't get it! Surely a ham sandwich without the bread is just ham? Or if you have salad with it, that's a ham salad, not a breadless sandwich? I'm confused now ( it doesn't take much to confuse me! )

it is not but if u r constantly on a diet like me or very overweight u dont really have a option if u want 2 lose weight as the sandwich with the bread is alot more fattenining than with out the bread the only exscuse people have 2 eat a sandrwich without bread is cos they r on a diet

As a person who has an allergy to bread and wheat products, a breadless sandwich makes a lot of sense to me.

No self-respecting sandwich should have the audacity to call itself a sandwich if there is no bread involved. The world is going crazy.

I don't think you can call it a sandwich without the bread. That IS what makes it a sandwich. Otherwise, it's just a pile of meat, cheese, mustard, mayonnaise and veggies. Sound suspiciously like a SALAD!

Me thinks you have been to Pret a Manger for lunch - I know what you're saying - I just don't get it. They also sell half a sandwich there. Madness I tell thee.
So expensive for such a small portion of salad too. All a big marketing ploy. You'd be better off going to a self serve salad bar - there would be more variety thats for sure.

i agree with you that sounds like madness. you need good bread to make a good sandwich, its all about the bread. take away the bread your just left with salad or something.
