I hear the word santicfy a lot as a Christian and am not sure of the Biblical godly meaning of this word? What does santify and santification actually mean? Thank you and God bless you in advance for posting. Please excuse my spelling.

The process or result of being made holy. It comes from the Greek word 'hagion' or holy place. Holiness when applied to things, places, and people means that they are consecrated and set apart for the use of God. When used of people it can have a moral dimension. Thus in the New Testament believers are (objectively) sanctified. (1 Corinthians 1,2.30). Believers are called to show that consecration in their lives (1 Thessalonians 4,3; 5,23; Hebrews 2,11). They are to be holy in practice in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Peace and every blessing!

The word sanctify means to set apart for sacred use or to make holy. Not sure how people are using the word now.

Made holy; consecrated; set apart.

Act 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.

Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

1Co 1:2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

1Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

there are many other verses that show that those that are in christ are sanctified or set apart from this world.

to make holy or sacred. It usually refers to someone who is changing their life to please God or do his will (IE. to be made clean or acceptable).
