I think it is better to go to a community college because it saves you so much money for other things and it makes your college life so much more relaxed when you don't have to worry about financial problems

It really depends on what you are studying. For some career paths, Community college is sufficient. Often, you can get some of your preliminary requirements out of the way through a community college for 2 years (saving a lot of money), and then transfer over to a University program. You just need to make sure that the credits you get would transfer to the University you are planning on attending.

If you go to a Very Large University for the first 2 years of your higher education it will be much harder. Universities use the first two years weeding out those whom they don't think will be able to complete the full 4 year program (or the full 6-8 year programs) because they only have a small amount of room for new Masters or PhD candidates each year and they need to reduce the numbers down to likely candidates. As a result, you will have to learn more on your own...

now, if you go to a SMALL University.. the story is completely different.. they are there to teach EVERYONE.. but it is usually much more expensive...

If you go to a community college make sure that the classes are transferable to the University that you plan to attend.

I totally believe it's better to go to a university.

First of all, reputation is a big thing when it comes to applying to some of the top companies and businesses. They're not going to want someone who goes to a no-name school in the middle of the outback, but to a big name school that they've heard of - because they know what the standards are for that school, and they encourage them. Little schools don't have that same advantage, and you have to apply more on yourself and less on the support of your school. I'm not

Community colleges have lower standards than university, and people know it. if you can't get into uni, you can still probably get into a community college. Lower standards never say anything good. Remember, people go to community colleges to raise their GPAs /so/ they can go to university.

Universities have bigger budgets and thus bigger facilities and better professors. I'm not saying this isn't without reason, universities cost a helluva lot more, but those two advantages are probably enough to be the reason I go to a big college. The course I'm studying at my college is full of big name professors, who used to work in the industry - I know friends who are studying the same things as me in community colleges, and their professors are just...professors. They don't get the networking opportunities that I do, either, or the abundance of lectures and events that are all helping me at the end of the day.

Money wise, it's better to go to a community college. When it comes to getting the most out of your money? Universities, small and large.

I believe that its better to go to a university. In my opinion, community colleges don't have enough space or enough courses to complete your GE courses. Also, I feel that they do not prepare you enough for the work load and level of difficulty that you will experience in a university. If you have the opportunity or money to go to a university, DO IT!! It will be a great choice.

If I complete a semester of foreign language at Harvard and you take the same class at community college, who knows the language better and who paid more?
The advantage of the better college is mostly in getting your first job.

they both deliver good curricula it all depends on if you are going to a school for a status symbol or if you can only afford community college, as long as you get the degree you are looking for.
