When do you start to loose noticeable picture quality from too long of a video connection? Im looking for a Maximum length of cable for each type of connection HDMI, Component RGB and VGA. I am trying to figure out where I want to put all my components because I am using a front ceiling mounted projector and want to get the most of my signals while determing where to put everything.

High quality video cables made for professional use can carry HDTV signals with minimal loss for more than 100'; a cable of this type is Belden 8281B, but you would have to put on your own connectors. This is the least expensive way to go. Specialty cable manufacturers make long cables; you can certainly go as much as 35' with good quality coax (RG-6). HDMI may need a booster for lengths more than 20', but they are readily available. Check these sites for some possibilities http://www.ehdmi.com/

UNLESS YOU HAVE YOUR CABLES MADE JUST FOR YOUR USE, THE STANDARD CABLES ARE ABOUT 6 FEET, DEPENDING ON WHO MADE THEM, WITH RG6 Cable you won't notice much loss untill over 100 feet.
