Is there anything weird or incorrect about this?

If I am on 'facebook' and my boss joined it too now, is it weird or incorrect for me to add him into my buddy list?

This purely depends on your relationship with your boss and the nature of the information in your facebook. If you think you might ever have information in your facebook that you wouldn't want someone in a supervisory position over you to know, then don't do it. But if you are friendly with your boss and you don't keep your facebook too personal, then it's perfectly fine.

It is imprudent to make personal information available to third parties via public means.
