The best sandwich I make is a turkey pesto sandwich on ciabatta bread. You cut the loaf in half and spread with pesto (I use basil pesto), top with smoked turkey, provolone and prosciuotto (or crispy bacon). Heat in the oven at 400 until the cheese is melted. Meanwhile, make an egg crepe (Beat 2 eggs and cook in a skillet, flipping once). Place the crepe on the sandwich and enjoy!

Jolly good question!

For instant gratification, not to mention instant energy, take the junkiest white bread you can find (the kind that when you gently squash the finished sandwich, you can see an outline of the contents!), butter two slices. Spread one with coarsely mashed banana - really ripe with dots on the skin - and generously apply peanut butter, smooth or crunchy to the other slice. Assemble and eat.

Another great one is similar bread, but filled with (if you like strong blue cheese) Roquefort or Bleu d'Auvergne and thinly sliced red onion.

Now I've done my answer, I think I'll go and make one for lunch!

My grandma made this open face broiled sandwich once it was so good.
She just tooka peice of white italian bread, and put a layer of ham on first, then a ring of pineapple on top of the ham, and a slice of mozzeralla cheese to top it off, then she just broiled it for a few minutes untill the bread was toasty and the cheese was melty and browned a little, it was sooooooooo yummy I ate about three of them. they taste great with a little bit of honey mustard too. If you like mustard... if not, it is very good plain as well.
If you are fan of hawain pizza you should like this. I suppose you could add some pizza sauce to the breead to make it resemble pizza too.

Processed cheese slices with sliced hard boiled eggs in a sandwich made from the freshest possible "cotton wool" white sliced bread. Probably about the worst thing you could possibly eat - that's why I think it's so nice!

French baguette or Provencal bread, goat fresh cheese, herbs and olive oil, OR same bread with any full taste matured yellow cheese and Fois-Gras with Porto. Actually i have many more to tell you at the moment(!), but these two would do as the taste is so intense you would remember for some time.

Best Sandwich! Has to be on a thick crusty white loaf (that you get from you local bakery). Sliced thick, Fried in Butter with Philly Cheese and Tomato slices topped with some sliced Cheshire Cheese and then melted under a hot grill......mmhhhhhh, might have one now!!!
Bit fattening, but who says you cant treat yourself occasionally!

Have a good croque monsieur, a grilled or oven toasted sandwich with thin slices of ham, béchamel sauce, and gruyère cheese.

Or nice hot greasy shaved steak and onion on a sub roll/baguette.
