i had my web cam on in my bedroom when no one was in the house and it kept picking up a mist of some sort and it recorded. also my dogs keep seeing things in the hall and upstairs. i also have things touched or moved and no members of the household has done it?
can anyone help me please???????

You really need to know if you have Ghosts or Spirits. They are two different energies.
A Ghost is grounded. Their world and ours combines at certain times. They don't know that they have evades our time and that is why they appear at the same places. Ghost's can be seen and can't harm you. I'm not saying that they won't scare you but it won't be intentional as they don't see you. They however can't move things unless you have a poltergeist which is a entity that has the ability to move objects and they do have the energies to make them the most destructive and terrifying of all. Poltergeist is German for noisy ghost. They are not grounded and they are not a spirit. Poltergeist are known to have attempted communication audibly or by writing. Ghosts seem to haunt where poltergeists infest. There is a possibility that the haunting phenomenon and the poltergeist phenomenon may not be related. You would know if it was a poltergeist.
You may have a Spirit. If so, this is somebody that knows you. A friend or relative. Spirits come from time to time to see how we are. They are free to come and go as they please and they would not harm you. You say that your dog can see things. If it was a Ghost or Poltergeist your dog would not stay around. It would growl, bark and whimper. This shows that your dog is not afraid of whatever it can see. Spirits can move & touch things. They can also touch you. You may feel a tingle on the top of your head or a slight movement of your back, arm or leg. They are there when you need them even though you can't see them.
Go to your local Spiritual church and speak to somebody. They will be able to recommend a person that is well known for finding out who is in your house.

I might sound crazy but I once lived in a house that felt very, very haunted. The noises of doors slamming even though there were none etc. My mother had a friend that owned a store that sold Wicca/witchcraft stuff. Potions and remedies and the like. We were recommended some charcoal (it comes in a foil tube, not like the kind you put on the fire but the same stuff at the end of the day) and you light it in a dish and place some coffee beans on top. Apparently the spirits don't like the smell or it offends them but either way, the house felt better after each time we did it. We did it a lot because this negative energy always returned but it certainly cleared the air for a number of weeks. Whether it is because of what you are physically doing or the gesture convincing you that it made things good doesn't matter if it makes you feel good. Try it out and see how you go.

I am a Church of England Clergyman.
The Church of England has specialists who are trained in this. They will take you seriously and help you. If you contact your local Vicar s/he should take your request seriously and pass you on to the specialist appointed by The Bishop. Say you are aware of this service and ask for their involvement. You will not be charged for this service and no one will take any advantage of you. These people are trained in psychology as well as having extensive knowledge of the paranormal and will ensure you are treated properly. They will also make sure that there is no natural reason behind what you observing that could account for the phenomena.
Certainly in my time I have had a 100% success rate.
ETA This is a very sensitive area and sadly you find charlatans and nutters getting involved in this. I am talking about some who call themselves Christians and some who are of other persuasions. Some make matters worse, others exploit their victims and others are just in it for kicks - do make sure if you involve anyone else that they are 100% bona fide. :)

This is a strange, but serious, answer. I know it will sound unbelievable, but it is the truth. The "what to do when you're frightened of them" part comes later in the post. First, a story about my step-grandmother's old 3-story house.
My step-grandmother had a particular room in her house, where, if you touched *anything* to move it... and left the room... shut the door... opened the door... and went back in... it would be moved back to where it originally sat before you moved it. My step-brother and I would try over and over again.
One day, my step-grandmother found out what we were doing... and she said... "oh, that's just my friend." Then she explained that her "friend" had been moving things around in there, ever since the day that my step-grandmother moved in. She had no idea why, just that this "ghost" was not happy with anyone disturbing their room.
Personally, I do not believe in ghosts per se, at least not the kind you dress up as for Halloween... but I DO know that I have seen clear evidence of the real kind, and not just the one at my step-grandmother's house... though that was the coolest one.
There is a name (which escapes me) for such a ghost. I will try to find it and edit this post today if possible. But one thing I remember about this type, is that they do not harm people. They make life interesting by moving things... but if you watch for patterns, you will discover what they move, and you will refrain from laying your mail in that one particular spot again after the third time it gets moved, etc.
But be certain that it's not simply your memory failing you, as mine does daily when I lose my keys, my mail, "stuff" I sort of tossed on the couch and later found beneath the cushion. Because it's easy to get freaked out over nothing.
I know dogs, and it doesn't take a ghost to make dogs freak out sometimes. There may be a "cold spot" in your house that is the result of, say, an old house with one old closet which never got insulation added below it due to the fact that beneath the house there is something built-in, blocking the beams and floor above it. Cold air will always seep in through that closet floor, and the dogs will freak out because they sense some inequity between it and the warmer air around it... with cold air rushing out the crack under the door constantly in winter. You might check for spots like that... although you will not be able to instinctively detect them like your dogs can.
Web cams are notorious for video problems, and ghosting effects are not uncommon. If you believe in ghosts, and you buy the right web cam, you may find "evidence" aplenty of ghosts.
If you get frightened, pray. Jesus is there, and He is the master over the seen, as well as any unseen spiritual stuff that goes on around you. He fights the invisible battles for us when we ask Him to, believing. There is power in His name. You might even pray that if there is some odd spirit living in your house with you, that the Lord would put it to rest so that it finally finds peace. Pray also that your dogs would find peace in their new environment.
Pray also that the Lord would use this new environment to help YOU to grow and trust Him more. Sometimes He places us in frightening circumstances just because He wants us to grow closer to Him. Being frightened and having folks encourage me to trust Jesus is the only way I ever learned to turn to Him when I am afraid -- I did not always just believe in Him or think He was much more than just some dead guy. Now, I turn to Him more instinctively, I believe more completely, and He helps miraculously. He's not just a dead guy. He is the only begotten Son of God. He is alive and active in the lives of those who seek God. He is calling out your name.
Find a Christian pastor (or more than one of them) who would be willing to come and check out the house, and pray over it with you... especially if you are afraid even to pray about this. But don't be afraid, just pray and keep praying until it ceases and desists.

I would like to advice you that, if you are a real Christian and you have accepted the Christ then never fear only pray to your almighty to help you and am sure this is the only good remedy for your problem.Jjust trust that only the Blood of Jesus can do wonders and then pray and fast for your miracle then all the stuff will go.

Try hiring someone who can speak too ghosts. Or ask the ghost itself to leave (I wouldn't suggest that though). Other than that, you should either move or let the ghost be. Just be careful. It isn't a maleviolent spirit, is it?

The easiest way to get rid of them is to investigate the things you see and hear. Be critical and a skeptic.
The ghosts will disappear shortly after you do this.

Ghosts are errant dis-incarnated people who do not know where to go! They can be a nuisance but, apart from impressing you and making you feel uneasy, they cannot hurt you physically ! Animals react to them because they can see them, so can some people and they can make noises or move things but, cannot go further much.Try to tell them they do not belong on earth any more, to go and seek the Light!

I believe you if some people dont and yes dogs can see spirits . Tell them to go to the light in jesus name . My mom and all of us 9 kids lived in a house when we were little and every night we heard a thump ,thump on the stairs . we found out a little boy had broken his neck falling down the stairs after his ball . My mom looked alot like his mom and he would appear to my mom . Well one night my mom told the spirit that she was not his mother that his mother was in heaven and that he should go to the light in jesus name and we were never bothered again . good luck .
