Not to the beggar.

Valuable is a variable to each individual.

That said......for a beggar, I think the $10 is worth more, why? because you can buy more. I can't imagine that the beggar is putting a lot of thought into where the money came from and how much the person earns, so long as cash is given.

Well, looking at this logically, I've a 90% chance of winning five million dollars ..... and a 10% chance of shooting myself dead. I suppose it's going to be quick and painless if I get it wrong, it's a couple of million quid if I get it right, and never being able to forget how it might have been if I walk away ..... I think those odds are worth it. You regret the things you *did* do for about as long as until the next time you do something stupid (well, except the very last one -- you usually don't regret that for long at all), but you regret the things you *didn't* do forever.

in .. monetary terms. the 10 dollars is obviously more valuable then the 1 dollar.
but sentimentally, IF the beggar were to think so far, , the giver of the one dollar means more then the millionaire.

see how is the percentage of money you give the beggar i guess

Yes I believe so. Many people overlook a person that is without, because it is too hard to face the reality that we as a society, have created, their are over 60 million homeless people in the U.S. and 37 million of them are children,,,,,,,for a person without to get a dollar,,,,makes them feel I'd say overwhelmed,,,,I can't imagine not knowing where my next place to sleep was, or when I was going to eat again, or hearing my baby cry because he/she was hungry,,,and then one day the crying stop because he/she died,,,,,can you honestly imagine that,,,,I guarantee if you gave someone without 10.00,,,,,they could make it stretch all week,,,,,and that is where your true appreciation, and compassion is,,,,granted I know there are homeless people that are addicted to drugs, and alcohol, and other things,,,,but is that their fault or our fault as a nation,,,,for focusing all of our attention on these other countries,,,,,and spending all of our money on these other countries,,,,,and not here in our own? When we almost went to war on Iraq,,,,how many of those countries had our backs??????????One,,,and it was France,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,what are they going to do,,,,throw tea and crumpets at them??????????

anyways,,,,I think a homeless person would appreciate a dollar alot more than someone who has money,,,,I would say that it is very seldom that the homeless person has money,,,,,and after the hard work to become a millionaire,,,and the tension is off,,,,a person of wealth,,,,tends to forget where and what they come from,,,,,,,and a homeless person has a constant reminder everyday, just from his surroundings,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they I would say they have a sense of dispair, humiliation, and sorrow from the time they wake up until they find somewhere else to sleep..

thanks for listening

Well a millionaire who has 1 million in the bank and is drawing 5% interest on it will have a yearly income of $50,000, or $4,000 per month. This is pretty realistic.

$10 is .25% of the millionaire's monthly income.
$1.00 is .10% of your monthly income.

The millionaire gave a larger percentage.

That is one way of looking at it, or you could compare total net worth. In that case you are probably giving more, but its hard to know from the information you gave.

To the beggar it most certainly is. But no, in reality one dollar is less than ten dollars.

* The begger does not care who gives it, but yes. Just like Oprah is being praised for building a school for girla in Africa which is a good thing, but why just girls, why not boys alos?, but she should not be praised because that is just pocket change for her.

There is a church I forget where, but this little church has gone into Africa and built a school for both girls and boys and also built a church, so I say these people who helped in this effort deserves more praise than Oprah, because they are not Billionares who live extravagant lives, but are ordinary people reaching out to the less fortunate in another country and helping both boys and girls, they are not sexist.

so you see the differnece?*

Dear Friend

From the bible:

The Widow's Offering
Mark 12:41Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins,[j]worth only a fraction of a penny.[k]
43Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on."

I hope this has answered your question

God Bless

P.s. the book of Mark is a great place to start reading the bible, why not have a look?>
