I gave my tiels 2 fresh slices of corn cob for the first time today. They love it. They finished both. I have 2 tiels with 5day to 2 day old babies. Is it ok? How much corn cob can they eat per day? I also put towling paper inside the nesting box as suggested on the web. Is this ok, as by birds seems to look at it strangely.

Corn on the cob is good for them, no limit on how much to give them, thats good to have the parents feed it to the babies too. Buy some KAYTEE hand feeding formula and sprinkle it over the corn.

GET PINE SHAVINGS FOR NESTING. Not paper towels. I dont know who told you paper towels, but you will be changing it every 15 minutes if you try that. Pine Shavings will take care of all the moisture and keep the birds cleaner then a paper towel will. Plus you only have to change the pine shavings every 3 days. Please do not believe everything other people tell you about the care of their birds. What works for some won't work for most.

They can have as much corn as they want.I would caution you to only use pine shavings not cedar as the smell is too strong for the parents and definitely the babies. Also DO NOT change the shavings until the babies leave the nest. Changing it can cause the parents to kill the babies as it no longer smells like their babies and they may see the babies as foreign. I have heard from breeders that this happens often and you would hate to see it happen to yours. Not to scare you but warn you You may also want to give them egg food sprinkled on their food or in a separate dish. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cockatiel babies are soooo
adorable.

Yes, they can have corn on the cob anytime...once a day should be sufficient. The nesting box should be filled with cedar chips...at least I have found that to be their preference.
