I agree with Maureen! My wife is a stay at home lady herself, and what she does for me is priceless! Taking care of our kids, doing our laundry, etc... is more than I could handle regardless of the fact that she does not "work." She works!!! She doesn't get paid, but she gets fringe benefits!

If you feel like you have to work beyond the doors of your house, you could just do the bills, etc..., of your house! My wife does that and I love it. You could try being a free answering service for the business, too. Just answering the phone is the first step to a sale!

But please do NOT discount what you are already doing in the role of "housewife." That is a very very valuable service you are providing to your husband, and I am sure he appreciates it as I do!

If you are a housewife you are already the backbone of the family..What you do in the home is already a fulltime job.If you are looking for something a little extra to do you could sell avon or if you are a crafty person you can make thing's and sell them, but what you do at home is really a fulltime job and your family should appreciate you.I am a stay at home mom and I am alway's very busy..Best Wishes to you..

Well, the good thing is, is that you're dealing with a family business. So, your lack of experience won't matter- the job that you do will.

Start by looking around---what needs to be done? Then tell your husband you're interested in the business and want to help. And then just do it. Whether it's cleaning, redoing printed material on a computer, organizing files (Be careful, I'm sure they already have a system--you must follow the current standard process) Consider yourself a do it all lady--someone who sees and looks for things that need to be done and just does them.

This joke will answer your question.

A man comes home from work and there is stuff all over the front lawn. Bikes, toys, garage is open and trashed, front door is wide open. He comes in the house and calls his wife's name and gets no response. Dishes are all over the place, the stove is still on and now he is really worried. He heads upstairs calling her name and finds her in bed still dressed in her PJs. He asks her if she is allright and she says yes. He then asks what is up. She says. " You know everyday when you get home and ask what I did today." Well, today I did not do it."

You are worth your weight in gold.

tell them you will work for free for the first year and all you need is gas money or car expenses

don't have your friends hang around goofing off with you and getting free merchandise.
most shoplifting is done by the help so don't bite the hand that feeds you
don't get upset when your family yells at you as they won't treat you like a hired help but as one of the family and they think you have to take the abuse..find out that the worst people to work for is friends and relatives..is seldom works out for the best. but find out for yourself..education is expensive..and not cheap
